Configuring Xilica Gio USB in the Designer software
Back to Gio SeriesGio USB is a 2x2 USB audio to Dante, Dante to USB audio interface and is used for connecting USB audio to an Ethernet network. Gio USB can not be used as a generic USB extender.
Gio USB is configured using the Xilica Designer software. When powered on and residing on the same local area network as the host computer, the device will discover in Designer's Network View along side other Solaro and third-party Dante-enabled devices.
Naming: To give Gio USB a custom name, double-click on the Gio USB icon in Network View to enter the Device Setup. Other device info and configuration options are available in the Device Setup.
Identifying: To flash the front panel LED of a Gio USB, right-click on the appropriate Gio USB icon in Designer's Network View, then choose flash front panel. In systems with multiple Gio USBs, this is helpful in identifying them and matching them to the virtual device in software.
Programming: From Project View, drag a Gio USB module onto the design screen. Double-click on the module to expose the devices configurable parameters.
Mapping: To match or "map" a physical device to the virtual device in software, first ensure the device is powered-on, residing on the appropriate network and discovering in Designer's Network View. Then right-click on the Gio USB on-screen in Designer's Project View and choose Map Physical Device. Choose the appropriate device based on MAC address. Once mapped, you can load a design to hardware and go online.
